The countdown to the 30th edition of the Superyacht Cup Palma Richard Mille has officially begun, setting the stage for what promises to be an exceptional celebration of superyacht racing, design and maritime history in the Bay of Palma.
This landmark anniversary represents an important milestone for Europe’s longest-running superyacht regatta. In 2026, the Superyacht Cup Palma Richard Mille will once again bring together world-class competition with the relaxed, owner-focused atmosphere that has made the event one of the most respected fixtures on the international sailing calendar.
Thirty years of superyacht racing in Palma
After three decades of history, the appeal of the Superyacht Cup Palma Richard Mille remains stronger than ever. This year’s edition will welcome one of the largest fleets in the event’s history, with a total of twenty yachts confirmed to race in the iconic waters of the Bay of Palma.
The fleet will include both regular participants and a significant number of first-time entries, creating a diverse and highly competitive line-up. From classic J Class yachts to modern high-performance multihulls and advanced carbon sailing yachts, the 2026 edition will offer a spectacular showcase of international superyacht design.
“We are delighted to welcome so many yachts for our 30th anniversary,” said Kate Branagh, owner and event director of the Superyacht Cup Palma Richard Mille.
“In addition, thanks to the new layout of the regatta village, made possible by our Venue Partner Club de Mar-Mallorca, we will once again have all the yachts together, stern-to alongside the main event marquee. This allows us to recover the atmosphere and the wonderful social spirit on the pontoons that have characterised some of our best editions.”
A larger fleet and a renewed regatta village
The renewed layout of the regatta village will play an important role in the atmosphere of this 30th anniversary edition. With all participating yachts moored together beside the main event area, the Superyacht Cup Palma Richard Mille will recover the close, informal social environment that has traditionally distinguished the event from other major superyacht regattas.
This combination of high-level racing and a welcoming shoreside programme has been central to the identity of the event since its beginnings. In 2026, that balance between sporting excellence and owner hospitality will once again define the regatta week in Palma.
New multihull and YYachts divisions for 2026
The ability of the Superyacht Cup Palma Richard Mille to preserve its legacy while continuing to evolve is clearly reflected in the 2026 fleet. For the first time in its history, the event will include a dedicated high-performance multihull class as well as a specific division for YYachts.
In total, five classes will compete in the Bay of Palma, forming an international fleet that highlights both classic yacht design and the latest trends in contemporary sailing superyachts.
Among the most anticipated returning entries are the J Class yachts Rainbow and Svea. The two yachts have become familiar names at the Mallorcan regatta and will once again face each other on a dedicated windward-leeward course, creating a direct battle within their own category.
The four participating multihulls — Allegra, Gaea, Highland Fling and Layla — will also compete in their own class with an independent start. With crews featuring some of the best sailors in the world, the multihull division is expected to deliver one of the most exciting spectacles of the week.
Returning winners and new superyacht entries
In the superyacht classes, several notable names will return to Palma. These include the two-time winner Win Win, the powerful Oyster Archelon, the 39-metre Tripp design Cervo and the 27-metre Hoek Design Atalante 1, which will compete this year with a new owner.
The list of debutants also adds considerable interest to the 2026 edition. Among the new entries are the 58-metre Perini Navi ketch Burrasca, designed by Ron Holland; the elegant 30.9-metre Wally Inco; and two yachts representing Nautor Swan: the 30.5-metre Point Counter Point and the Swan 88 Spiip.
The YYachts division will feature six entries: the Tripp designs Lucid and Distancia, both measuring 23.80 metres, together with the 29.71-metre Bella; the 23.80-metre Judel/Vrolijk design Beati; and the models Makai, a Brenta 80, and Calabash, a Surge Projects design, both measuring 25.99 metres.
Calabash, designed by Mallorcan naval architect Javier Jaudenes and owned by YYachts, is the only yacht in this class returning after making its debut at the event in 2024.
Close racing in the Bay of Palma
On the water, the format is designed to create close and competitive racing. Starts for the superyacht classes will be separated by two-minute intervals, while the YYachts fleet will start just 60 seconds apart, adding further intensity to the racing in the Bay of Palma.
This structure will allow the different classes to enjoy fair and dynamic competition while giving spectators and participants a memorable view of some of the world’s most impressive sailing yachts in action.
A year of important anniversaries
While the Superyacht Cup Palma Richard Mille celebrates its 30th anniversary, several key partners are also marking major milestones. YYachts, Friend of the Superyacht Cup Palma Richard Mille, celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, while title sponsor Richard Mille and Carbo-Link both mark 25 years.
Marinepool reaches its 35th anniversary, and Hoek Design celebrates four decades of activity, adding further significance to a very special edition of the regatta.
Programme for the 30th anniversary edition
The Superyacht Cup Palma Richard Mille 2026 will officially begin on Wednesday 24 June with participant registration, safety briefings, captains’ briefings and a welcome cocktail on the pontoons.
